I have to close this deal for a customer.

They have a Sony Micro MV video camera.

They want to plug their camera directly into their computer and encode the tape to MPEG2 and burn directly to DVD in one step.

Anyone got any ideas of software or hardware that will do this?

The typical way to do this is to encode the video to your desktop, then burn it to a DVD, ie: two step process...The customer wants a one step process.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

there are multiple solutions to ur question

1: get either power director pro 2.55 frm cyberlink, ulead video studio 7 or pinnacle studio 8 what ever u like all are available for trial. if u have a fast computer say 2.4 ghz p4/athlon u can do realtime dv to mpeg2. dv to mpeg1 doesnt require that much power.

2: get a hardare encoder like snazzi's snazzi III AV.DV that will do hardware encoding of ur dv to mpeg2. requires less processor speed, excellent quality, but more money .

Thanks... I found a great solution... took me about an hour but Pinnacle has a kickass new Capture Card that will do this and does all the crunching itself so it doesn't bog down your computer.
