Computer went tits up yesterday, when booting up I get this message....

NTLDR is Missing, press cntrl + alt + delete to restart.

Of course this just puts me in a circle. If i remember correctly i need a CD copy of XP to put into the computer and then boot from there. However i dont have a copy of windows.

My question is has anyone run across this and have an easy fix?

If i go into system recovery and reinstall the master boot record (wich should fix it) will it wipe my hard drive?

Should i take a baseball bat to the computer?

I dont have much experience with XP so i was hoping someone here did.

XP came preloaded on the machine. Was suppose to make backup disk (actually sent us CDRW's to do it). Of course never did. There is a restore option that will restore it to factory condition.

But it never did come with any disks.
