They're already illegal in Missouri. Oklahoma's trying to make them illegal... and now California. Fuck you Arnold. If this passes I hope a pitbull bites you in the ass... because obviously, all pitbulls are mean and evil.

This is about California legislation being passed to exterminate pit bulls. If it passes in California, it could be on its way to us...

Contact your elected representatives!! Tell them what you think! We pay them to listen and act. DEMAND YOUR MONEY'S WORTH and save lives. When pit bulls are illegal, they are STILL bred and sold, but without regulation by those who protect animals from puppy mills and malicious owners. Remember, what happens in states with bans WILL affect what happens in states without breed discrimination in the future.

I only posted this because my cousin breeds them in Chauvin and they are totally differant from the ones I have seen out here. Most the ones out here are breed for fighting (we are a low income state and thats how the mexi's make their money). But my cousins dogs were totally differant because they werent exposed to anything in the fighting nature. They have so much personality and are nice dogs too. My son rode on the female (she just had puppies too) and played with her and she never even cocked her head at him. They dont attack strangers or anything. you could walk up to the cage and stick your hand in. My cousin says the only time they bark or get uncomfortable is when everyone is sleeping and someone comes to the door or something.

Don't post this on Nameless Tavern, all you will get is stupid bullshit from ignorant motherfuckers. We've seen it time and time again Crielle, every dog of a given breed must be fucking monsters. This topic doesn't deserve to have to deal with the ignorance of these forums.

In Ottawa, the've been banned (starting at the beginning of this year). So you can't get one but if you already had one, you're alright.

and i agree, I have a close friend who has a pure bred and very well trained pit bull, she is possibly the most beautiful, strongest and best all around dog I have encountered.

It's not the breed that is at fault, it is the people who have taken the amazing tenacity and determination of this breed and exploited it for their own entertainment. The way this is being dealt with is a huge shame, if the pit is erradicated and banned, people will just find a new breed to favor for fighting.

Pitbulls are the nicest dogs ever. I don't know wtf people's problems are.

This isn't just about the outlawing, many of these laws want to take pitbulls that have already been living with a family as a pet and have them euthanised. This goes far beyond a breed ban and into a much larger debate, how the hell can someone have the right to take your pet who has never done anything to anyone, and kill them?

If people would only use the amazing drive these animals have for good rather than fighting things would be so different. For example, pits make excellent search dogs due to their determination.
