Anyone willing to sell a microphone?

Don't need anything special, but figured I'd look around for a used one before I hit up used from Ebay etc.

brinstar sold me a really nice guitar.

just know that he'll have your return address and he can be a little crazy sometimes and who knoes he might just show up at your house with is andy dick crazy entourage in tow and who knows what sort of fat black stripper debauchery might ensue.

are you lookin for a mic to sing through or for mic'ing an amp?

i'd recommend checking guitar center.. i think those are nation wide? they have end of the year blow out sales every weekend, usually can pick up some cheap stuff, not allways the best.. but cheap.

I usually go for the underdog, but that lameass mirror/picture frame thing ruined it.

fin i'd suggest checking out pawn shops and/or music shops in your area

you didn't specify what kind of mic you were looking for (or what you'd be using it for) but there ain't much you can't do with a shure sm57 (trivia example: the entire red hot chili peppers album "bloodsugarsexmagic" was recorded using only sm57s)

you can usually find em used for like $75-$80-- then again they're only about $100 new

as far as cost and versatility go you're not going to find a better mic imho, they are an industry standard. durable, road-tough (roadies have been known to use them to pound nails when they can't find a hammer), decent-sounding. great value.

i've got two but neither are for sale ;\

I've used an sm58 before but that was long before I wanted to get serious and was still impressed with it. Is the sm57 much of a difference? I don't know shit about microphones...

I'll be doing a lot of screaming, don't know if that makes any difference in my choice for a mic...

If it comes down to it, I'll buy one el cheapo somewhere and if it doesn't work out I'll just take the loss. A guitar is more of a priority for me right now.

if a mic isn't your priority then don't listen to what brinstar said and go buy a cheap omni-mic from guitar center like everybody else said. it will run you $10-$30

as you can see the frequency response graph on the sm58 show a more gradual swell around the 3khz-4khz mark, which helps vocals cut through a mix better than the sm57, which has a harsher slope around the 5khz mark

if you need a mic for vocals only, the sm58 wins out-- otherwise the sm57 still wins the all-purpose category.

an sm58 is generally $10-$20 bucks more than an sm57, which means it would be tough to find a used one for under $100... so like drem said, you might be better off buying a $20 radio shack job until you a) know you're serious enough for a real mic and b) want to drop the dough on a real mic

good luck mic hunting!

Then get a cheap ass mike cause no one will understand wtf you are screaming anyway.

Real screamers don't need microphones, Harrison. Be a man!
