it's going to end up being a bunch of AAA players playing in it, every day somebody new pulls out. It's a shame, it was a good idea in theory

I'll be watching. Love baseball! Basically it just adds a month to the season for me. I watch any baseball game I can see. Even if its two shitty teams I don't care about. The Dominican is going to be sick as hell. Ortiz, Pujols, Tejada... that lineup is fucking loaded.

If it isn't Cards baseball, I couldn't be less interested.

Its a good idea, but a bad implementation.

Watch somebody gets injure and be out for the season then no team would let their players play in it next year.

It's only every 4 years, it's baseball's replacement olympics.

Semifinals are set: Japan vs. Korea, Cuba vs. Dominican Republic.

The tournament should have been held in November, after the players have had time to get their shit together. Japan and Korea both start their spring training a month earlier than the US. Cuba is in the middle of their baseball season. It's no wonder that those three teams are semis.

I really like the idea, but the implementation isn't really fair.

Japan beat Cuba 10 - 6 to win the first World Baseball Classic last night.

The reason why they did it in march is they cant do it during the middle of the MLB season, and after 162 games in November nobody is going to want to play. Plus the weather will be shitty everywhere.

This was the best time for it.

It's every 3 years. The next one is in 2009.

It's every 4 years after that. It won't be til 2013 after the second one. Don't ask me why, but it is the truth!

p.s. You could hold games in South Florida or Southern California any time of year Xaiv, you know this, hobo!

However, I will concede to you that November isn't a great choice either. Maybe in '09 the US teams members will have to start spring training in february! Get an early commitment like USA Basketball did. Or something. Anyway, go Cardinals.

Even in November there is still rain and colder weather in southern California. Look at Anahiem and San diego this year year in early march. Game had a rain delay, and others had some rain during.

Some players were complaining about how cold it was in Anaheim and San Diego. November would be worse.

Actually, that's not true. California weather is different than most places. November is still pretty warm here. It's actually significantly colder now than it was even in early december.

Most places, sure, now's warmer than november. California, especially southern california, not the case.

http://www.cityrating.com/cityweather.a ... =San+Diego

Notice the following data:

Average Temperature: March 59.6, November 62.
Average Rainfall: March 1.8inch, November 1.5
Sunny Days: March 11, November 15

Basically, better weather all around in November. This year is especially so, we had a real warm spell in november, and have been going through a major cold snap so far in march.
