that more and more programs (mainly media type apps) have taken away the option to not start the program on start up of your computer?
Quick Time is one example.

I'm trying to get banned from Apple's message boards now. I'll see if I can set a record and get banned in a couple of hours...

go to start, run, type: "MSCONFIG"... click on the last tab, "startup" and uncheck the box next to quicktime. You have to move the slider to the side so you can see the full path to the executable file.
You will be forced to then restart and then you will have to turn off a stupid warning that pops up.
No more bother from quicktime.

I thought that when I tried last time to remove it with MSCONFIG that Quicktime will create ANOTHER start entry. I think you must go into registry
