well its been awhile since we got to see some NHL playoff action, and im pretty pumped about it.
whats everyones predictions?
Im going with Detroit or SJ as the Western champs, and I think Carolina is going to sweep the east unless Hasek returns... then hopefully we'll see a Carolina/Ottawa showdown.
Who will raise the cup? If the refs keep calling like they did in the regular season, I think Detroit without a doubt.

Detroit won't make it out of the 1st round
getting to play st louis, chicago, phoenix 8 times a year gives them the padded stats of a paper champ

didnt play phx 8 times theyre a different division, and dont worry tikker... your oilers might take a game or two.
edit: you were probably thinkin columbus, whos even worse than phx. i agree though, the central division was the easiest division to win. 8 players with 20+ goals is going to be difficult to shut down, regardless of the team or the division.

yes, you're right, columbus, not phoenix
the oilers also have 5 or 6 20 goal scorers~
Detroit doesn't have a top tier goalie. neither osgood or legace is in the same league as brodeur, kiprusoff, turco so I think detroit is emminently beatable
especially since edmonton won the season series against them

You will all get schooled by the San Jose Sharks.

You'd probably like to get schooled by the entire team in the shower.

Someone other than you pick Cheechoo?
I didnt see that one coming, him and Joe Thornton turned out to be quite the combo.

I could score 20 goals in the NHL with Thornton on my line

Imagine you have a cushy 20 point lead. Then imagine the next person in your pool with BOTH Cheechoo AND Thornton.
Now, I'm down by 50~
Nagy didn't help, that frail piece of shit, oh and Palffy's sudden career change.
*sigh*

Must be an obsession of yours... all this talk about gayness, faggotry, and dick-sucking. When you gonna come out of the closet? Well. IF will find out soon enough. lol

Rooting for the Rangers. Long time Rangers fan, however backing into the 6th seed, and having to play NJ in NJ instead of NY did not help.

Actually, the season series ended up tied 2-2.
With Pronger bound to melt down and Edmonton only making the playoffs because Vancouver choked, the Red Wings will take the series.

My first round predictions:
West:
Detroit over Edmonton in 6
Dallas over Colorado in 6
Anaheim over Calgary in 7
San Jose over Nashville in 6
East:
Ottawa over Tampa in 5
Carolina over Montreal in 6
Devils over Rangers in 7
Flyers over Sabres in 7
I think it's going to be Ottawa or Carolina in the Finals from the East (unless Brodeur continues playing insanely, in which case they have a shot)
From the west, I think it's going to be Detroit or San Jose.

CCHHHEEEEEECHHHOOOOOO!!! and you guys laughed at me for that pick!
i'm a bit worried about the hasek circus right now, with murray telling him to get lost until he's healthy, if he starts bitching, it could get ugly. Ottawa could, and really should win the cup or at least make it to the finals but it all depends on which team shows up. There were times when the sens looked like the early 80s edmonton oilers, and then there were times when they looked like the early 90s senators (go sylvain turgeon and brad marsh!)

Are you forgetting Alexandre Daigle?!?!

He only scored 5 goals this season so far. Kind of low for a right wing, no?

He's the future of the league, Mindia.

At 31 years old? Well, that's cool. More power to him.
