I bought my DVD rom drive, installed it and installed oblivion. I began playing, and am amazed at the visuals of this game. Only one question, i'm currently getting this weird thing where about every 10 minutes my computer screen goes black (keep in mind my sound still stays the same), then i have to hit tab a couple times so it will tab out of the game, then i tab back in and it's fine for another ten minutes. It's not that big of a deal but is a lil bit of a pain.

Other than that i'm like 30 mins into the game and am having fun just looting anything I can~

We've all experienced some "technical difficulties" with Oblivion. It's not a very stable game. Several of us were getting kicked to desktop, and there's been some other glitches. Sometimes though, you'll go several days in a row with no glitches at all.

I've had absolutely ZERO problems with my beast of a machine!

make sure you patch up your video drivers and your directx.

I had a corrupted save state. That was a fun 30 minutes redoing the same shit.

I've been booted to desktop a handful of times in 2 days playing. The auto save goes off a lot so it hasn't been too much of a hastle

I've never had a single issue. It's run flawlessly since the day I got it.

i get crashes to desktop now and then, and lost 5 minutes of progress in a corrupted save(quicksave is ur friend!)

the biggest issue i've seen is that it doesn't exit gracefully

almost everytime i save, then choose to exit to desktop it crashes

The game ALWAYS crashes when I'm exiting to desktop. I don't really care though since I'm done anyways and the game's awesome~

I think this goes to show you that you can produce a good game, albeit with a few bugs and people will still love the game. You produce a shit game with bugs and people will hang your ass.

Just out of curiosity, is Oblivion as good on the XBox 360 too? I'm assuming XBox 360 offers a keyboard + mouse peripheral. I'm not positive though.

There is no keyboard/mouse for the 360. There is speculation about one in the future. Right now though, its controller only.

And I love it for the 360. But thats because the whole experience, on my couch, through the stereo on the HDTV is personally better for me than at my comp. But as far as the actual games go, shrug, Im kind of jealous of the mods available for PC users. There are already a few mods available for download on the 360, but not free and probably nothing like what is available already for PC. Am going to eventually pick up/rip off the PC version also.

That's the most common glitch I've read about on the Oblivion forum

make a copy of your saved games somewhere else on your puter

my save game is so fuxed i started over (from level 25 no less)

the grey fox gimp hat is the shiz

I don't have any problem with this game at all. And my comp is a fucking piece of dogshit...It's made by Dell and that should say it all.

Played this shit all, fucking, night, again.

My head hurts.

Damn that last thieves guild mission is fucking long.
