the Jesus thread made me wonder how many christians believe in the Trinity

i'm not a christian, so i took door #3

the idea of the trinity is essentially the best way western civ has come up with to explain the aspects of God.

it is a fair tool, certainly enough for most Christians, to give them a framework of the language in the bible....

it is also of course a mystery that cannot truly be simply defined and it is not a concrete and simple concept that alot of fundamentalist theologians try to make it....

you are supposed to be explaining God after all... you know.... that might be a little difficult with simple metaphors.

I appreciate what it tries to explain. But trying to reconcile all of the aspects of each part to each other is not possible..... SORRY COULDN'T STOP MYSELF

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the "don't care" crowd.

I'm won't say I'm not suprised by the lack of christians, too bad IMHO.

If I had to make that decision, I would say Jesus was a prophet. He simply inspired people to live better lives.

Jesus was a bible thumper from the future where time travel is commonplace. He traveled back in time to "rise from the dead" and "walk on water" to create a new faith.

He was later caught by Jean-Claude Van Damme and forced to touch himself and implode. Unfortunately, the damage had been done and the Time Cops had to leave it at that.
