Actually they are nice for keeping in touch with people, I mainly use mine for event invites in the underground music scene, you get exposed to a lot of cool artists you would normaly never hear of.
Also I am part of the Akita breeders group on there, I like trying to educate people about the breed.

it's way way easier to plan shit when you have a shared space like that... imagine calling 40 people to plan a campout or something... it's pretty bullshitty. Having 'one' calendar that everyone can access is a fuckload easier than dealing with phone calls.
and then... you have 2000 posts on a message board, so... most people would think you'd be sympathetic to the e-community thing.

I hear there is this thing called graduating high school and people moving, sometimes they even change their number because they move out of state for school. Thats when myspace is cool, to find people you lost touch with.

the whole concept is childish as fuck to me. the music, the lame ass "friends" crap... its silly.
if someone is worth keepin in touch with, its pretty easy to do so. imagine a world without the internet, musta been so difficult to keep track of your homies without it... gee whiz.
