I like to read, but don't do nearly enough of it. I'm just curious what the rest of you are reading. I'd like to know what book you just finished, what you are reading now and what's next.

I'll start it out:

On Deck: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dune_%28novel%29" target="_blank">Dune</a> - Frank Herbert

I realize I'm finally getting to books that have been around for years, but... oh well!

Just finished "The Eagle" by Jack Whyte. horrible fucking ending to a fantastic series (bad enough that I won't even recommend the series to anyone anymore =\ )

Currently reading ....nothing

about to restart the WoT series so I'm gtg for when the final book comes out sometime in the early 2010's

I had just finished re reading The Da Vinci Code to refresh my memory for the upcoming movie. Right now I'm reading Cesar's Way by Cesar Millan (from Nat. Geo's Dog Whisperer series) so I can learn how to help my anxious doggy =/

Taking reccomendations on new books

Just finished "Judge" about a local politician from the 20's to the early 60's (don't remember who wrote it, but boy La polotics are interesting) I might read Da Vinci Code or a book a friend gave me called "Knights Templar"

Just finished Mask of Atreus by AJ Hartley. A so so archaelogical wannabe thriller.

Nothing on deck until I see which books are available at the library.

About to start The End of Faith by Sam Harris, anyone read it? Good, bad, meh?

Just finished "Dharma Bums" by Jack Kerouac

a beautiful good story imo

his life was sad man, died with like $91 to his name.... Amazing how someone who advocates living a good and right life so strongly ends up dying becasue they cause their liver to hemorrhage because they can't stop drinking? HA!

Currently reading Angels and Demons, and also ready Game of Shadows about the MLB steroid situation.

On deck is reading Jose Conseco's book, Juiced : Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits, and How Baseball Got Big

Ive read all of the Dan Brown books, including the two that are not history/religion related, I liked Angels and Demons the best i think.

The Knights Templar sounds familiar as hell, I think I have read it as ive read pretty much all the books I could find in that genre

I to this day still haven't read Dune. Supposedly I have to or something, I dunno.

i'd like to read the da vinci code before the movie comes out... but i don't know if i will or not.

i'm currently reading life is short--wear your part pants, a self-help book about managing stress that my mom gave me.

i just finished reading she's come undone by wally lamb for like the fiftieth time, i don't know why but i really love that book.

What did you think of "The World is Flat Thomas Friedman"
My friend is in africa for 2 years in the peace corp & needs some reading material.

Im reading Blood Canticle Anne Rice only cause atm I cant decide on any other books out there.

Just finished David Baldacci's Camel Club, Vince Flynn's Consent to Kill, and Russell Andrews' Gideon.

Will start reading Matthew Reilly's 7 Deadly Wonders and John Halliday's Flying Through Midnight.

Ive read all of Matthew Reilly's phleg, i enjoy them a lot!

also phleg..what did you think of camel club? i picked it up a few weeks ago but havent got to it yet

would have to say my fav Reilly book is Scarecrow

I just finished reading Freakonomics by Levitt/Dubner, just as in I read the last chapter about 5 minutes ago.

I'm not sure what I will be moving on to now.

Camel Club is typical Baldacci's government conspiracy involving the secret service/fbi. It's not his best but I enjoyed reading it. I also read all of Reilly's books.

If you like Reilly's books, I would recommend you looked up Brad Thor and Vince Flynn. Maybe also Barry Eisler.

tangent: this older court interpreter whose young nubile friend i'm courting came in today to reschedule an appointment. she told me she'd have ruby (the hottie) do the appt on thursday. i told her that'd be outstanding, except i won't be around on thursday since i never work on my birthday. she then said happy birthday!!! and dug around in her purse and gave me a beautiful hand-painted bookmark that she got on her recent trip to honduras as a gift so now that i have an awesome bookmark i need to use it more often
