What's a decent price to pay for wheel alignment, brakes, tire rotations, things like that?

I've had my car since 2003 and it's about time I get it checked out, but I don't want to get ripped off if I need services like that, which I'm thinking I do.

Pick up the phone and call local companies and price shop what you want done.

I use a local mechanic not affiliated, because it's cheaper and the work is better, personally.

Rotate your own tires. There is no reason you should pay someone to do a job that simple.

some places include rotation and balance free if you buy the tires from them :)

It cost a lot for what you want done, at least 1000 bucks.

The brakes can be done for 200-350 np. The rotation you should do yourself or have them "throw it in" with whatever service you're getting. The alignment is what's gonna hurt.

Once every 3 years is good. You're right on time.

Heh a 4 wheel alignment should be $49.95. Go somewhere like Midas for brakes, however, if the car is 3 years old and it stops without squeeling, I wouldn't worry about them.

I think you're thinking of a 4 wheel balancing. Alignments are normally upper hundreds.

You're insane if you pay that much for an alignment. Well if you get it at the rip off dealership, then you probably pay over 100 bucks. Most alignments are less than 60 dollars.

I paid $75 for new brakes, do it every year in early fall.

New tires every 2 years, early spring. I think it runs about $350 for 4 75k tires for my truck.

Alignment etc gets taken care of when I get the new tires.
