yes I will post when I get home.

There is a really good mod that makes the game have a much more realistic leveling progression.

The mobs don't level with you, but they are retuned.

For example if you are level 1 you can start the arena quest line and beat the entire thing because the mobs are the same level as you are.

With this mod you must level to beat it, because the end guys are tough. Now the good side to this mod is that instead of all the guards and bandits leveling and running around with Daedric stuff later on they stay low level as their character should.

Leveling and the monsters are much more linear and inline with how tough they should be.

I can't remember the exact name of the mod but I really like it.

The mobs on the main quest line are tough as they should be, but pansy ass city guards and merchants get a fucking beatin if they step to The Quon.

I just remembered what its called.. "Oscuro's OBlivion Overhaul". It makes it a much better game IMO and is an extremely popular mod.

Hasselhoff...that mob anti-levelling mod sounds good. Tell me though, does it make the game alot more linear? Like those random shithole dungeons you go in might either a) be a cakewalk, or b) demolish you depending on what level you are?

I really don't like the idea of the mobs leveling with me in all circumstances, but I also don't want the game to become too linear.

I wouldn't say the game is too linear with the mod...There is so much to do and so many different ways to go from point A to B you don't get that feeling that you are being forced into content at a specific time.

If anything the mod makes the game a whole lot more realistic.... For example a bandit dungeon is going to be perfect for low levels, and they never will be in full daedric armor no matter how high you level. The flipside to that coin is that if you are level 3 and go into a vampire den, you'll have your ass handed to you.

Here is another key thing I noticed...The main quest line starts out harder with this mod...Which in my mind makes sense. At level one you should'nt be off saving the world without a little experience first.

As you level you will find that the outside trash mobs, guards etc become easier and easier which is as itt should be.

The Arena quest line is still a perfect example. There is no way you can now beat the entire thing at low levels, because the last few guys are real tough.

If you only install one mod for oblivion I recommend Oscuro's Overhaul.

Here are two commands I think are useful too:

First... use the "~" key to open the command menu.

player.setcrimegold 0

Basically if you attack and kill someone and then later go to the city and the guards go apeshit this will clear that. Some would call it cheating, but I think it is stupid if you smoke a guard or someone in the middle of nowhere and then go to a city and get attacked. I haven't found any mods that really unscrew the guards behavior and make it more realistic.

I don't use this anymore because I just kill all the guards who attack me.

Also if you do want to cheat here is how to get unlimited gold:

player.additem 000000F 1000000 That will add a million gold.

No, Ralphf's the one who tells the GM, "I attack the Kobold with a headdress made of human ears!"
