New job, at my desk, computer runs really slow. I keep getting pop ups. Norton found nothing, isn't there something I can download that will help? Thanks.

AVG will find any virus and remove it. You can download the free version here:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5
I've been using it for 2 months now. It's great.

i've always had good results with ad-aware, by lavasoft.
are you using firefox or IE? IE gets hella pop ups everywhere, but it's extremely rare with firefox. if you're still getting them with firefox then it's probably nasty spyware already installed.
go to start, run, and type msconfig. go to the startup tab and look for things that have weird names like wxxtd.exe, or shit like that. you can usually type the name of the file in yahoo, and one of the top links will tell you if it's spyware, or something important your computer needs. if spyware, then disable it from running on startup, and go to the directory it's at and delete it.

also download, update and use spybot search and destroy in addition to Lavasoft's ad-Aware.

I have to second what Mart is saying, for real that is the best way to go.

Somehow I think the best anti-virus or anti-spyware for a computer is the presence of a penis.
So why is Kizzy having a problem?

I use HijackTHIS!, Ad-aware, Spybot - Search & Destroy in no particular order.

Hijack This is dangerous to use if you aren't sure of exactly what you are doing. That's why I almost never recommend it.

Windows Defender is installed, and it keeps saying that there is a really bad virus, so I tell it to remove it, then it says it has to restart, and the same bad virus is there again, so I try to run a scan, and nothing happens.

I bet it's a trojan horse virus. Download the AVG free download. It will take it out.

I got a nasty ass worm a while ago, if you just get pop up's and it runs really slow it is probably just spyware though, anyway I had to reformat my whole fucking comp cause of this worm (thanks limewire). I found a few ways to fix it that was listed on symantec but you needed to edit the register on the computer and the fucking worm locked me out so it was impossible to fix it. Some of them just can't be fixed.

Don't recommend Hijack this! to someone who doesn't know 100% what they are doing, if you do 99% of the time they end up deleting some essential system file.
