Yeah I just hope its not too long. Knew there was gonna be some holdout.

But as far as the rest of the team goes:

I smell FOOTBALL.

New Head Coach unveiled a new formation, designed for Bush and Deuce. FB deep and 2 Half backs, 2 wideouts split wide.

Drew Brees looked fantastic on the first day. A clinic on short pass accuracy. His shoulder is fine boys and girls!

Going to be a freaking awesome year for the Saints!!@!@@!21111221@!@!@!@!212222

WHO DAT

Team also showed up in good condition. Man what a change from the Haslett years.

What is taking them so long to sign Bush? Williams and Young signed. So all the have to do is slot him in between those two.

Ahh, the optimism of Saints' fans. It must be start of training camp.

Once the season starts those dreams will be crush just like all the previous year.

Why is it that everytime I click this forum, this thread is marked as having new posts when there are only 4 posts to it total?

It's a haunted thread!

You have to remember team chemistry. You have a new, unexperienced head coach. Yes he tutored under Bill Parcells, but that is not a free pass in the NFL. You have a new offensive system, a new defensive system, and a new quarterback. That is a lot of chemistry that has to be developed. On top of that Joe Horn is on the down slope of his career. You guys need to find a new #1 receiver and Donte Stallworth it is not.

My prediction is that you guys will have a rough start to the season but really pick it up towards the end as you finally develop cohesion. It doesn't help though that you have a killer schedule. Not only do you have to face your own division, but you have to play the NFC East aswell.

I see you guys finishing 3rd in the NFC South, I dont like the Falcons this year. Either way, good luck!

I agree with a lot of this and I respect the fact that you seem to have more than a passing knowledge of my Saints. I think the playoffs are unlikely also. Its just the crystal ball comments people like to make are amusing :)

Dont count out Horn as a goto man this year. Hes apparently on a mission so far in TC. Looks as good as ever.

Also, I hate to hype a rookie, but why the hell not is training camp.

Mike Hass has been spectacular so far. Making our Corners look stupid.

Hey it's the Saints... didn't they get beat by Ohio State last year, or what is Mayberry High School that owned them? :haha:

Making your corners look stupid isn't a hard thing to do. The Saint's don't have a very good secondary. McKenzie is the only good player you guys have.

Your offense will be carrying your team (aslong as Deuce doesn't get hurt again). Don't expect much to come from your defense.

We still have some holes on defense for sure. If we dont make the playoffs, it will be the defense that holds us back. Haslett did an awful job with the Defense, Payton cant fix all of his bad decisions in one year. But he has done a lot. LB core will be entirely different. D Ends will get lots of sacks. DT is a concern, and the secondary. But its not all bad.

And when I said 'our corners' I meant Mike McKenzie. Hass is special so far. All he has to do is keep practicing the way he is and he is #3 behind Stallworth and Horn.

We have a large pool of promising WR talent and he is leading the pack.

Oh yeah, forgot about the Hollis Thomas acquisition from Philly. D line should be fine, barring injury of course.

That's giving them more credit than they deserve. Remember the Lions had Barry Sanders and they weren't exactly awesome.

The Lions never had Katrina to deal with either.

The Lions never sniffed a QB as good as Drew Brees. Barry never had shit around him. And they still won some games. That says a lot for Barry.

By the way, that run is reminiscent of Barry. Switch on a dime then turn on the jets. Thanks you Houston! :hiphop:

Right at the end, Barry was trying to get traded here to San Francisco. Remember, this is when they still had Young & Rice. Can you imagine the 49ers' offence with Young, Rice & Sanders? Gaga...

Lions refused to even consider trading him, though, so he up and retired.
