So I'm at work the other day, and a black man is browsing through the aisles. I walk up to him and ask

"What project are we working on today?" with a big smile.
He said, "I want to see the Tile Man"
"I'm the tile woman, and Steve(the tile man) is at lunch"
"Well, he's a man, and you are not, I'd rather talk to him"
I informed him at this point, that I could help him, or he could wait for 45 minutes for Steve to get back from lunch. He finally told me that he wants to replace the tile wall in his shower. So I explain what has to be done in pretty in depth detail. I get all finished, and he tels me, "I still want to talk to a man". I just smiled and said okay, and called the assistant store manager over. I introduced Him with his title, and explained what the man wanted to do. The manager told him EXACTLY almost verbatim what I told him to do. I so baadly wanted to stick my tongue out and say neener neener neener, I may be a girl but I am not stupid. It's not like they don't give us HOURS of training on almost ever item we carry. People like that really piss me off. I can tell you how to lay a carpet with or without padding, I can tell you all about pattern match, I can tell you about how to lay floor and wall tile, how to measure and install blinds, al about paint, how to install Pergo or hardwood floors. Thats why Im a frigging specialtist. Thats why they pay me the big bucks. It just aggravates me and I am ranting.

I think you're mistaking Home Depot for Lowe's. Lowe's has the biggest staff of retards I've ever seen. Home Depot is way above Lowe's on so many levels it's not even funny.

If you go to a hardware store without knowing what you want or what to do you are in big fucking trouble.

If you don't know, research before you go. You'll end up fucking up your project anyways.

My mom actually works for a flooring company, assistant to the contractor that runs it. Before she managed the family floor buisiness. She would get shit like that ALL the time. Almost came to the point of packing my shit up and leaving due to how the customer was treating her. The dude wouldnt even aknowledge her and was drilling me for information- shit i dont know anything i just sand the edges ;P

So why do you care if the guy wanted to talk to the Tile Man. You coulda just gone back to whatever you were doing at no effect to your pay and not been bothered by it. Sometimes you gotta let people think whatever they want to think and not waste your time on it.

It has nothing to do with him being black or a man. Hell we have had women call us, get our female tech and ask to speak with a man. Many people are still stuck in the mentality that some jobs are for men and others are for women, being of the opposite sex makes you clueless on that job.

377 and 20 is 2-3minutes south of me down the highway(820/20) from work, i pass that spot every day twice np. I got lost there otw home first few days when i first moved here trying to find the granbury exit=P 820 and 20 being the same thing confused me for a while np. hell it still does theres an 820 on the east side...and north too, wtf? Its a circle=/

I go to the Hulen Mall all the time. THe fucking exit to get to Granbury is a little confusing unless you know what you are doing. I live in Granbury.

well thats just it too. the sign for 377, says granbury doesnt it? It owned me two days in a row, and the next day i ended up down 20 headed west towards abiline haha. Thats good times...I used to cut turkey ect and do all the prep for the Potbelly right across from hulen mall by old navy np. If you ate there last winter or this spring i poisoned you. We should grab lunch sometime~!
