Extreme Packetloss

I have charter 1mb cable, and run it to my comp using a Blitz Wireless Network router and PCI card. The network itself is running at 54mbps, but I have *extreme* packet loss when playing games like FarCry or Counterstrike online. Is this because of the wireless? I never had this problem with charter over a hard line network. Is there anything I can do to stabalize the connection?

Turn off your 2.4ghz telephones.
Not sure about your router, but there should be some tweaks you can make regarding broadcast times & shit like that.
It is probably phones though... I have 2.4ghz cordless phones with a passion.

Ive heard of certain other appliances fucking with wireless networks as well, might have been "urban myths"...
But 2.4ghz phones definitely do, Ive seen that firsthand.

None of the phones in the house are 2.4 gig. They're all 900 mhz. Grr.
