Something here that I can't put my finger on... I know it's something simple.

Using Kaffeine right now, sound wont work. The mute is enabled even though I select it as off.

I know the sound card works as I get sound from other sources...

Any ideas, besides to stop using Kaffeine?

You try any other movie player to see if you have sound with them? Would be useful to know if this is Kaffeine specific or in general for you movie players. Maybe try mplayer just to see if you have sound in that.
