Canadians fighting Pot Forests as well as the Taliban

OTTAWA, Canada (Reuters) -- Canadian troops fighting Taliban militants in Afghanistan have stumbled across an unexpected and potent enemy -- almost impenetrable forests of marijuana plants 10 feet tall.

General Rick Hillier, chief of the Canadian defense staff, said Thursday that Taliban fighters were using the forests as cover. In response, the crew of at least one armored car had camouflaged their vehicle with marijuana.

"The challenge is that marijuana plants absorb energy, heat very readily. It's very difficult to penetrate with thermal devices. ... And as a result you really have to be careful that the Taliban don't dodge in and out of those marijuana forests," he said in a speech in Ottawa, Canada.

"We tried burning them with white phosphorous -- it didn't work. We tried burning them with diesel -- it didn't work. The plants are so full of water right now ... that we simply couldn't burn them," he said.

Even successful incineration had its drawbacks.

"A couple of brown plants on the edges of some of those [forests] did catch on fire. But a section of soldiers that was downwind from that had some ill effects and decided that was probably not the right course of action," Hiller said dryly.

One soldier told him later: "Sir, three years ago before I joined the army, I never thought I'd say 'That damn marijuana'."

Rofl, that's f'ing hysterical.

:ugh:

On second thought, keep doing drugs.

Maybe, just maybe, you will go sterile before you pass on that stupidity. The future is begging you for sterility.

I may just start supporting abortion when the thought of you passing on your genes comes to mind.

:umno: I like doin what i like doin. Id rather not be a criminal about it but im not gonna let anyone else make the decisions bout my body. Not my fault my country wants millions and millions to go into the wrong hands. The war on drugs does nothing but waste tax payer dollars, fill up prisons with people who really dont need to be there, erode the constitution and put weapons and money in the hands of some very bad people. Good thinking usa.

I watched a documentary on some learning channel on how marajuana/cocaine became illegal. Real eye opener.

This is pretty hysterical.

And Im with you Spazz. Only reason its underground is because of stupid ass drug legislation that makes no goddamned sense in the first place. I like my weed, Im a stable, non-violent member of society. Im not giving it up because of stupid ass laws that everyone knows should be repealed anyway. Fuck that.

And also, see dylan's sig.

Weed is more of a detriment than people think it is imo but I believe it should be legalized. I'd never touch the shit again though.

Turns you into a lazy motherfucker 9 times out of 10. No thanks. I think I'll just keep my conversation abilities and motivation to live.

It has it's different effects with different people. My friend could take 4 bongloads and you couldn't tell the difference and his professionalism remains in tact. Then there's people like spazz. Still, it takes you off your game no matter what you do, but I think that's ok legally.

Yeah, from a legal standpoint it has no major detriments to cause it to be illegal in my eyes.

Ya know face to face with me youd never know if i was or wasnt. It puts me on my game too ( as long as i odnt get mega stoned). Your making assumptions about what i must be like based on my typing and you couldnt be further from the truth .

My post is based on the fact that you're unemployed and boast about how stoned and high you are all the time. I'd love life too if I was able to live and not have to do shit but unfortunately I understand that whole "responsibility" thing. Now I'm sure marijuana doesn't put a gun to your head and tell you to be unemployed but is it a huge coincidence how many unemployed young adult to middle aged folks there are out there that smoke marijuana and can't do shit for themselves? Not saying that's how it effects everyone, but it does effect a lot of people that way. Oh and guess what, when I read your posts the first time before you shocked NT with the announcement that you smoke weed, I had already assumed you were a retarded stoner. Coincidence?

My bills are paid i have no dependents why not enjoy myself.

I used to use pot as medicine.

I like being wide awake much better.

I don't think it should be illegal, though. It isn't any more damaging than smoking a cig. Maybe even less.

Alcohol should be illegal.
