on a mac, operating with osx and have had virtually no problems with viruses aside from a ridiculous yahoo messenger issue which I've solved

now, my start page which is google.com, is coming up with the UK version instead of the...amercian?...went to preferences and put it in as google.com but it's still coming up...

suggestions? thanks

Are you connecting through a proxy?

If Google picks up an IP coming from the U.K., that is what page it will give you.

when I check under system preferences, under network, under proxies it does not appear that I have anything selected. and Im not really sure what any of that means specifically, but I do know that I am not sure how exactly I'm connected, and am new to this computer so it's hard to know what I'm looking for. again, thanks for the help
