The result is rather amazing looking, but I would assume one could just get a tattoo in a light red shade that would look just the same. I can't imagine going through the process of letting someone flay me like that. Perhaps if I could do it to myself I could stand it, but good lord I don't think I could let another person do it.

WHY someone would do that is utterly beyond me. The only even laughable reasons I could come up with would be one of these 3: 1) He wanted to be able to have really broad lines when he wrote his name in the snow, and so he did that so his piss would come out as a spray. 2) He holds it together with a string with a knot with a long quick-release line when he's going to have sex, then once he's inside, he pulls the string off, the halves spring out, and it's like a lock washer, so the two of them can counter-rotate in opposite directions while they're doing it with no risk of him popping out. 3) He's dating 2 chicks at the same time, and wants to get 2 half-blowjobs at once rather than have them trade off.

Scars just like tattoos over time begin to look worse and worse, why would this person think getting "bamboo" scars on her back would somehow be "better" than a tat. In 15 years they'll both look like shit anyway. At least you can touch up a tatoo, this gal is screwed up in the head.

Scarification is pretty common, but this is definetly a new extreme level of it. The end result it beautiful in a way, unfortunatly scars shrink and change size and shape as they heal, so I hope for her sake she heals very well and her scars do not distort.
