i got a call today from a customer who blew up his notebook
apparently he thought that since his RVs battery was also 9 cell all he would have to do is strip the plug from his ac adapter and attach it to the battery post and rev up the RV to charge the notebook

the real reason companies outsource tech support to india is that Indian people are too polite to laugh when people do stupid ass shit like that

Seriously? Thats worse than when i worked for a computer company and got a phone call from a guy that was PISSED because his computer shut off while he was writing a report for work. He wanted to return the computer because it would not turn back on after it shut off
After 25 minutes on the phone, checking power conections etc, i got it out of him that the power had gone out. I asked if the power to his house had come back on, and he replies....No does that matter?

I've done tech support for nearly 5 years now. I've heard all levels of stupidity. Here's one of my personal favorites...
Back when I did dsl support for SBC, a lady called in needing help connecting through her dsl. When told to use her mouse to click on a certain icon, she replies with, "my what?" I repeated, "your mouse." She then asked, "Do I have one of those?!" I tell her that her that yes, she does have a mouse. She then says, "Oh God! I hope not! I hate those damn things!"
Turns out that she had put her mouse behind her desktop tower because she thought it went in the back with all the other wires.
