I am a member of the Black Student Association at the university I go to. I was told tonight that I am going to be dressing up in African garb and learning some Swahili as we help our school and community celebrate Kwanzaa.

This is going to ROCK!

But..um....................I don't know anything about Kwanzaa yet. I have it Wikipedia'd in the other window. I just wanted ot tell you guys about it before I hit the sack so you have plenty of time to bitch about it before I get home from another meeting tomorrow afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't have to be black to be open to learning about the african culture..in fact..it makes more sense that white people should be trying to learn more about it because the blacks have had it forced down there throat since the international slave trade brought them to our shores..

You know what, fuck this fucking logic. This is the same shit that basically made me decide even our public school system is corrupt. February...Black history month. Where is white history month?

All you read in lit class during Feb. is black author's, so why do I have to read black authors outside of Feb.? I mean, Im all for equality, but this is the shit that needs to be changed. I really hope one day I win the lottery or become rich, so I can start W.E.T. The White entertainment Television channel. Now, I love me some black people, but even black people have noticed this. It's like being overly nice to someone, they notice it.

Hell, I can sit around with my crew here at work, and we can point out how stupid this is. They just gave us MLK day as a company holiday, when I asked about VETERANs day they said no, PRESIDENT day again another no. I mean, I understand he was a big part of history but then again there should be some limits here.

If I was Mexican, right now Id be protesting for a Mexican history month, come on balance?
