I want to get Gid an electric razor for his birthday (Jan).
If any of you guys use one, tell me the brand and if it is worth it. He needs to shave quickly every morning, so I thought this would be a pretty useful gift.

Electric shavers dont work very well if you grow feirce beard.

No facial hair in the Army, so we dont have to worry about it.
Plus, I dont like the in-between stage of that gross scruffy shit when guys are trying to grow it out, so I never let him.

In all honesty, a razor can't be beat.

Those electric pieces of shit, however expensive, are useless.

Jjiaah uses the Braun 8595 Activator

Like with any electric shaver, it takes a couple weeks for the face to adjust to it, but it shaves very close, very smooth, and and is self-cleaning.

That link is simply the first one I found for the thing on google. The price is exaggerated - I have seen them in the stores for normally right at $100. The cleaning solution cartridges are typically $10 and only need to be replaced about 4-5 times a year (Jj uses his everyday).

The only downside to this razor thus far is the loud buzzing/whirring noise it makes when it's cleaning itself, but you get used to it.

In his opinion, it's the best razor he's ever used.

My facial hair is so thick that I have to use a regular razor and shave with the grain first, then reapply and shave against the grain.

Electric shavers don't work on me at all. I have tried three or four of them. Maybe there are better ones on the market :dunno:

Another nay for electric shavers, nor do I find shaving my face terribly time consuming.

God I hate electrics, they always leave my skin feeling irritated and never is as smooth as a razor. Blades are so damn expensive though >_<

I saw a site once with comprehensive study on the subject actually but cant seem to find it again. I do remember though that because the vibrating motion of the electric razor it leaves a lot worse of a shave then a normal razor and then hairs will be all jagged n crp. Im good with my mach 3 gillete.

Im amused all us hairy fuckers are like NO WAY ! on the electric. I thought i was the only one who thought those things useless. Seriously a razor leaves your face feelin a lot less jacked up and it doesnt really take more than a second .

The Braun electric shaver I have sucks. I have to finish up with a straight razor. It was only $35 though.

I bought one for my son this Christmas.

:( He is almost 14.

I put him in wrestling this year and he looks crazy in his tights, but he is good. He wins!

Anyway, I bought him a Remington.

What does the color of your hair have to do with your ability to grow facial hair?

:mystery: :dunno:

Ok yall, this was never said.

He cant grow a nice arrangement of facial hair. I hatehatehate moustaches...too 70s pornstar for me. I dont like full beards because all I can think of is my dad...and I dont want to think of my dad while Im kissing Gid. So its a goatee or nothing. But he has missing spots where the moustache and beard parts would connect...so its nothing. Besides the Army regulations on no facial hair blahblahblah.
He has to get up at the asscrack of dawn every morning for the next many years, I thought the electric shaver would be nice and quick, at least thats how it looked on the commercials :(

And Spazz, no guns are allowed in my house, so no gun :)
