After about 30 seconds I can see that they are, but I have to convince myself they are before I even see it myself.

Focus on the center square alone, and you will see that they indeed are the same color if you don't move your field of vision too much.

Just blur your focus and you will be able to see it clearly.

The two in the "proof" picture look different to me. I'll have to try it again on my home monitor.

This has stirred a debate at work now. We have people printing it out on color copiers. People are claiming the grey line gets lighter as you go downward. Too funny.
