UFC buying pride

It's running around a bunch of websites, and apparently it's true
PRIDE CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara has informed some of his U.S. staff members that PRIDE is being sold to UFC promoters Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta. Sakakibara indicated no contract has been signed yet, but he will be stepping down from his post and the sale is imminent. The two promotions will operate separately, but talent will interspersed. And most importantly, perhaps, Zuffa will have a stranglehold on worldwide talent salaries.

Shrug... that's been rumored for at least a year now. Until something pans out, I won't get worked up.

I hope its true. Theres a few guys id really like to see chuck take out. I think silva is on the top of that list.

the info for this rumor is pretty good
i believe its finally going down
i also think it'll be one of the best things to happen for the sport, regardless of how entertaining the pride production can be it's still incredibly mismanaged
cant wait to see crocop fedor 2
and yeah i think chuck would KO silva unless silva drastically changed his game
p.s. shogun has been signed to a new 4 fight deal... 2 fights in pride 2 in UFC
i think shogun can take chuck if he plays a smart game

Yeah, it's looking pretty official =). Wow.
Shogun is one of my top 3 favorites... Any 'good' fight he's in is worth watching.

I think this is going to help MMA grow a lot if managed right. Say what you will about UFC's fighters they are a well promoted, throw in the sheer talent that PRIDE brings to the table, MMA could soon become a major force in American sports. I personally believe that it's all ready eclipsed boxing on many levels.

Fighting show signs with Navarre

Navarre Corp. said Tuesday it has inked an exclusive DVD distribution agreement for Zuffa, creator of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the TV show The Ultimate Fighter.
The show, which airs on Spike TV, pits contestants against one another in a martial-arts competition. The show is beginning its fifth season, Navarre said.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Navarre said ratings for the series regularly beat NBA, NHL and NASCAR events among 18- to 34-year-old males.
Navarre is the parent company of FUNimation... so... I can get these DVDs for pretty much free. Any requests?
