Teachers drop the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslims

Schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, a Governmentbacked study has revealed.
It found some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial.
The report concluded: "In particular settings, teachers of history are unwilling to challenge highly contentious or charged versions of history in which pupils are steeped at home, in their community or in a place of worship."

That really ticks me off. History is what it is and should be taught. You can choose to believe it's fact or not....you can live in denial your whole life, too.
While we're at it are teachers not teaching about slavery for fear of offending folks who may be in denial about that, too?

Editing history to not be offensive to anyone seems like a really bad fuckin idea to me. I allways thought the point of history was to learn it so as not to repeat it.
