i'll definitely be trying this on release. most mmorpg's use a combat system kind of like EQ1. where you target something, and virtual "dice" rolls determine whether you hit or miss during auto attack. and you can press a few more keys for special attacks, and more dice rolls determine what happens.
from what i've read, targeting on this is where you aim. for melee, ranged, and spells. plus you can fight from on top of your horse. going faster means more damage, and spears/lances are even better from horseback.

Hmm, I disagree. I think they've learned a lot from AO and are hungry.
I'll definitely give it a shot. Hopefully during beta.

some people on the conan forums said
Mount & Blade has a similar combat system to AoC. the demo limits you to level 6, but it's pretty fun.

Mount and Blade is a very fun but limited single player RPG. I really, really hope AOC is not too similar to that, as it isn't very in depth.
I hope it's more like AO.

Wow, I wonder if they can pull this off. Seems like an awfully short beta for such a complex game. . .
