I got in but don't really feel like playing it- someone said I should sell it but I doubt anyone would actually pay me for this key lol...is it worth sticking up on Ebay?

So I had it up on a game trading website auction thing and this guy wants to pay me $500. I have a pay pal account and not really sure how to do this. I don't wanna get scammed so what is the best way to go about making sure he pays up before i give him the actual code?

If no one answered you already, it's pretty easy. Just have him paypal you the cash and after it's in your account, send him the code.

P.S. How did you get in >< I want into this beta sooo bad.

I'm $485.20 richer now.. Paypal took a good chunk of change but np :)

I was at the San Diego comic con, and there was a sign up for the beta and they chose 8 a day and I won. I got to test it but it wasn't what I was thinking so I decided to sell the code and did.

Hey... so the guy I sold it to is now disputing it through paypal saying that he didn't get what he paid for- I guess because EA Mythic has not let him into the beta testing yet. I never said anything in my ad that it was immediate and he wants to work something out or wants his money back. What should I do? That code is useless to me now- should I offer a full refund or give half back? There's no ETA of when he will get into beta, but the code is applied to his account.

So you were worried about getting scammed and you turned out to be the scammer! Gg.

I didn't scam him though- He got what he paid for which was the code that reserves him a spot in the beta. When they take him in is beyond my control and he knew that. He paid so much for it, I also assumed he knew what he was getting.

hahahahaha that's what he gets for paying so much for it. Remember when DAoC came out and everyone said it would DESTROY EQ? Now everyone that dislikes WoW is running around saying the same shit about this damn game.

hmm yea I remember heh..noone really plays DAoC that I know of. I tried it for a month and thought it was boring.

Well, I just don't know what to do...I feel bad for the guy. He paid $500 to sit in a queue again. They could take him in tomorrow or they can take him in 2 weeks before game release. I just have no control over it. I did sell him a code that at least got him past the initial application for beta and into the line to be taken in to test. Was it worth $500 to him? Probably not and that is why he's upset. Can't blame him there. Gonna be going to sleep soon. I'll check in later.

You scammed him. He should get his money back. Your original post made everyone think you were currently in beta.

I hope he gets his money back. I never took you for a scamming thief, but surprise, surprise.

selling beta's is beyond lame

I'm not shocked that you'd do it tho

Ummm...if there is someone out there willing to pay $500, how is it lame to sell it? It might be lame to be on the buying end but not on the selling end. $500 is $500.

Whatever- I didn't intentionally scam him and Lyion, my post here in NT is completely different from what I put in my auction. He knew all the details and is just upset that it's taking so long. I didn't force him to buy it. He actually skipped past the bidding and paid the full asking price. I'm probably just going to give him his money back and assume he's not lying. But then I'm sure the day after I do that, he'll get in.

You scammed him. Did your sale note you were not actually participating in beta, but just selling a key that might get one into beta early. I bet it didn't.

No, I guarantee this guy thought you were in beta. Your original post here was completely different from the truth. You are NOT in beta. In beta means you have a login/password and can actually play. You cannot. You sold a beta account you don't have.

There is no way around it. You scammed this guy. He thought, as everyone early in this thread that you were currently participating in beta. What you did is sold him something you don't have.

You lied. You Scammed. You can justify it however you want, but this is 100% bullshit.

It's no different from someone selling a box for an Xbox 360. Completely false advertising. I hope this guy gets his money back, because everyone knows your deal was 100% scam.

If the post in your auction indicates everything to be as legit as you say, then he got what he payed for and it's unfortunate it's taking longer than expected. 500$ is a nice little bit of money, i'd keep it. Then again - I'm an asshole who saves money.

I think Lyion is the guy that dropped the 500 bux.

Jeesh Lyion- sorry it bothers you so much. And no, I didn't intentionally lie or scam him. I didn't auction it in Ebay afterall or sell it to anyone here. I sold it in a different gaming forum and my auction was like this:
" Selling my Warhammer Online Beta code-The code has never been registered and it will reserve a spot for you in the Warhammer Online beta test. This is good because when you register it you can start fresh and choose your own acct names, email, etc"

Then I linked a picture of the card , front and back, that I received.

Then we talked about it on AIM about how they take you in at intervals and he knew that, stating he's done beta testing before.

The buyer is just getting anxious because they haven't called him in yet and wants either his money back or to work out a deal of sorts.

He decided it was worth $500 to skip past application and get into the queue to test. Noone forced him.

For what its worth, I'm not a bad person and I'll most likely give him the full refund because if I were in his shoes I'd want one too. That doesn't make me a scammer. If I was a lier and scammer I'd not be communicating with him at all - but thanks for making me feel like shit.
