well I have an account but I don't use it. why should I switch from my fun yahoo! beta mail with the really cool and random subject lines? plus there's no storage meter. convince me.

No.

Learn about POP3 and why having your own mail client, be it Outlook, Express, Thunderbird, or another is far superior to using a web browser for yourself.

or don't. There's a reason why most people switched from hotmail to gmail.

i don't understand much of what lyion just said hehe

Just a smartass way of saying do the comparison yourself.

I've explained why in that post, that you can use your own mail program, something not available for free with Yahoo.

Seriously, gmail is faster, has more features, enables you to use a home mail client, but keep the mail on the server, and you can chat with Leah. There you go.

ps. Outlook Express supports Hotmail and has for years... too bad both are ridden with problems ><

I don't think it does with new accounts, 10.

Hotmail was slick 10 years ago, before MS bought it, and fubared it.

Well good thing my Hotmail account is old then =P

It was my second email address, the first was a Juno account... so roughly 11 or 12 years old at this point? Remarkably, I only get about 20 spam messages a day on it compared to my "business" gmail account where I had all my realtor stuff forwarded to... that thing gets roughly 100 spam messages a day. My personal Gmail account gets between 0 & 5 a day.

I've used gmail for a while now. The spam filters, interface, and speed are the best I've seen. Googletalk owns also. The voice function is clearer and uses less memory / processor then any other clients. Oh, and not to mention the mobile site is own too. (Typing this from my new iPhone woot)

I asked myself the other day what tard from NT would shell out the bucks for an iPhone and to be honest this post does not shock me.
