I am hopeful for my Pats to take it all the way this year.
San Diego in my opinion won't be as crisp as they were the previous year despite the maturity level of Rivers will have, just they have to learn a whole new offense etc.
Indy lost MAJOR key defense players this offseason so I really don't see anyone in the way of this, although I must note that the Steelers are looking totally different this year can we say Repeat ?

I think it'll be some random NFC team have a dream season that'll win the SB this year

Big name free agents do not equal super bowls. Just as the Redskins.

I'll gladly place a wager the Pats don't make the Super Bowl...

I'd place a wager on any single team not winning the Super Bowl -- chances are extremely good on the bet succeeding.
That said, the Patriots are like any other team before the season begins. Although, comparing the Patriots Free Agency methods to the Redskins doesn't wash. Redskins overpay for mediocre talent, Patriots get more talent per dollar while paying less overall. Also, most of their team has still been built from the draft, most of which were drafted this century which makes the Patriots a surprisingly young team overall despite their overwhelming past successes.
