I just found FF7 and the anthology set with FF5 and FF6 in the used bin at the store for 4 dollars for all. I dont know where to begin!?
I know its a topic thats been brought up a million times, but its always fun to see the discussions, so whats your favorite?
I think im going to start with 5

Final Fantasy VII is the greatest single player RPG of all time.
Reasons why:
Sephiroth - The baddest of all baddasses ever.
Great story - Plot twists (this one kills!)
Awesome character development - So many to choose from.
Complex magic system (materia is the best I've used to date)
Near endless side quests
Beautiful world
So many weapons, items, ect
The VEHICLES!!!!!!!
And lets not forget, the Weapons... And no, I don't mean the equipable type

Materia was a weaksauce system
the original FF had the best magic system, where you actually had to make each cast count
I enjoyed FFVII the most of all of them I think, altho I also really liked FFIV, and FFIX
the best singple player RPG tho is not a final fantasy, but rather a Dragon Quest (Dragon warrior for the n00bs)
DQ3 and DQ4 are spectacular

I really liked how the materia interacted with each other to create unique combos. Spells in most games provide one function.

Have they ever made a way to play Ultima VII (think it was VII): The Black Gate on XP or anything? I would love to play that again, but wouldnt even know where to start, last time i played it was on DOS like 10 years ago

I think you can run it using DosBox.
