is what is for dinner tomorrow. because I am going to skin one or all of my cats alive..I just woke up at 4am to find one of them peed on me in my sleep. I am so mad. It's been such a long day, I just want to sleep. Now my blanket is wet and stinks, my mattress is wet and stinks...and I'm awake and I stink.

My kitty just did the same thing, except it was the couch, and I wasn't sitting on it. And luckily it wasn't mine. Out of curiousity, would anybody like to share their favorite cat urine smell removal tips? Such as for, oh, whatsay, the front of a non colorfast purple couch?

to me how people tolerate cats...

and I bragged about them all, just hours before..

Fire

Just out of curiousity, is the cat fixed? our cat had a BAD problem with doing that until we got her fixed. She stopped peeing all over the place when she was in heat but put on about 30 pounds.

cat urine is a bitch, even if you can't smell it the cat still can and chances are it will piss in the same spot again.

last night was the first time I've slept in my bed since it happened and I didn't notice it..guess I did a good job cleaning, but hopefully the cat (whichever one it was) doesn't do what tuggan said.

I've always heard cats urinate/shit on your bed when they're pissed at you. It's so strange, because since we moved they are happy as hell...no dog bothering them now, and the three other cats we were living with are gone..they have freedom! Can't imagine why they're mad.

maybe one is jealous of the other and is "marking" you as theirs.

ammonia fixes that issue.

cat urine is disgusting...real distinct nasy smell...

good job getting it out, i would have been pissed about that smell.

Very true.. unless you clean it straight away, you're almost always pretty much screwed. That stuff seeps down in deep, and the ammonia in it or whatever it is in urine that emits that terrible smell just hangs around and the cat develops a habit of thinking that it's okay to pee there because they've peed there before. I had a siamese who was old (22 years or so, I mean *old*) and she had accidents, soon after the other cats followed suit because of the smell.

We got a kitten a few weeks ago and the first night, she peed in the bed twice, I used spot shot on it and rustled her little feet around in the litter so she knew what it was and luckily she hasn't done it again. Spot shot is pretty great, definitely one of my favorites, but not necessarily for cat urine. god - my mom's friend used this stuff called urine off (pretty sure that's what it was) and she thought it was just the most amazing thing. no personal experience with it, though.

I had an issue like this ages ago. There is some stuff called Natures Miracle that will take out the smell. You should be able to get it at just about any pet store.

There's another product you can get online that works reasonably well: http://www.zeroodorpet.com/

Same concept as the Nature's Miracle stuff, just different manufacturer, really.

Natures miracle didn't really work for us, I was surprised - disappointed, too

A whole shitload of baking soda, oxyclean and scrubbing did the trick for the couch.
