So I've had a bad migraine for almost a week, well the Ibuprofen 800 hasn't been helping that much, so last night, I caved and took some of my son's tylenol with codeine he had left over from surgery.

Today I was offered a promotion at work (YAH about time) but I have to take a drug test Monday or Tuesday. Will the codeine show up?

Just disclose the fact you did it, and bring the prescription bottle with you.

It wasnt my prescription though, it was my sons's.

It stays in your system for 48 hours, and I took it Friday night, so I should be okay on Monday.

It depends on the drug test.

I went to a drug test once on vicodin that I had a prescription for, it didn't even show up in that particular test. I had explained the situation to my employer beforehand just in case but, it wasn't even an issue anyways.

your self-destructive tendencies are intriguing.

You know come to think of it, I had to take the same drug test last year when I applied, and I had just had teh miscarriage the day before, and that didn't show up.

you really shouldve tried some excedrine migraine instead, codeine does nothing for migraines really - at least in my experience. ibuprofen is a joke for any headache.

Different effects for different people.

Percocet does absolutely nothing for pain of any sort for me. Other people claim it's amazing.

Just different things for different people.

If you've really had a migraine for an entire week you should get that checked out.

no, codeine will not show on monday or tuesday if you took it friday night

there's an outside chance they might catch it if they use a really expensive drug test, but i doubt they will want to blow that much money on it, especially if the $5 dip-the-stick-in-urine test comes up negative

that too. a lot of people mistake migraines for bad headaches too; if you've had a migraine, you'd definitely know the difference. migraines are blinding, and render you all but completely dysfunctional. in any case, i definitely wouldn't make it a habit of taking something as intense as tylenol 3 for a headache, and if it *is* a migraine, it's a condition more serious than popping an otc pill whenever it rears its head. I know it's different meds for different people, but ibuprofen will almost never do anything for any *real* migraine. Really severe headaches, possibly.. but migraine is a different story

So I get called into the HR office today to get my new payrate, etc only to find out I never had to take the test in the first place. I stressed out over nothing
