Who gives a fuck if it's considered a *real* FPS or not. I'm not going to not like something so I can fit in the ek00l dudez club. I like Halo - it's a fun game to play.
Halo is the most popular video game in history - so Bunge must be doing something right.

Ahh yeah.. that's it... I suck at FPS's... never mind the years of playing Doom, Unreal, Unreal Tournyment, Quake I/II/III Arena, TF, Half Life (all online)... yeah... because I like Halo... that means I'm no good at *real* FPS's.
LOL.
You guys just have some questionable logic at best.
I never said the game was going to be *challenging* - I said I liked it.

I thought Goldeneye was a good game.
Halo isn't bad either.
I'd rather play it than Doom 3 with my friends.

I remember hosting my own TF servers, playing Quake II via LAN (LAN parties - complete with beer), installing and running Half Life (the first release) at LAN parties with all its buggy glory.
The most fun I ever had with FPS was with both playing TF and Quake II.
Remember the skins you could get with QII? Dudes running around with Homer Simpson skins - with the DOH! sound effect when they got fragged... good times.
I play what I think is fun... I think the Halo series is fun. I don't really care how "hard" it is, nor do I really care what the so-called "hard core gamers" think. It's a fun game - for me - and apparently millions upon millions of other XboX owners...
To each his own. I just don't understand the need to point out "dude it's not a REAL FPS!!" Who the fuck cares... really?

I have 2 copies reserved, one for me and one for my son who lives in Florida. I am looking forward to the coop mode via LIVE so he and I can play together. I don't get to see him for months at a time so the LIVE service is great because we get to talk and I get to frag his ass when he lips off!

By the end of the year the only games people will be going batshit over will be Assassins Creed, Guitar Hero 3, COD4, and Haze.
I don't think Halo 3 will even have multiplayer coming out of the gate unless they fixed that.
Kane and Lynch will satisfy the Grand Theft Auto crowd until they can get their hands on GTA4 next year.
Halo 3 will fade like a fart in the wind.
