Our D sucks because Callahan is moron who should have been FIRED 3 years ago. The D doesn't tackle. They just throw their bodies at the receivers/backs and hope that knocks them down.

Why they wont fire that piss poor excuse for a coach is beyond me. I think in the past 5 years he's averaged roughly 6 wins per season... any other school would have fired his ass after year TWO.

tbqh, i was actually a little surprised at mizzou that they didn't pull their starters earlier, b/c for christ's sake, it's not like we were going to win.

i appreciate what callahan's been trying to do with our offense and everything, and i really think that keller's been doing a decent job, but GODDAMN we just suck and it's time to recognize that. maybe being knocked out of the top 25 will light a fire under our asses.

at least, i really hope so, because i have tix to next week's game vs. OSU, and i don't really want to watch us take it up the ass :\

The NCAA Football season so far has been a giant clusterfuck concerning the Ranking system (A.P. Top 25, etc) I mean it is seriously jacked, it doesn't seem like the top 15 have been so open to getting their asses handed to them by unranked teams...


oh and .... Volleyball is a very happy thing to promote...

They don't do it, because that'd kinda render the overall bowl system kinda useless, and they want to rake in all those advertising dollars from the "Corporation X Bowl!" x100.

Of course, they claim it's "FOR THE CHILDREN", er, "FOR THE ATHLETES!" cause they claim a playoff system would be an onerous burden to the "student"-athletes. Of course, all lower divisions of NCAA football have a playoff system, and it doesn't seem to be too much of a burden on THOSE players, so that explanation kinda pegs the BS-O-Meter.

Yeah, but playoffs would be based on the top 8 teams, as there's no way in bloody hell you could do something like March Madness for football.

So, you go from what, 50+ bowls to 8? I am sure they could still hold other "bowl" games, but with the diversion of interest onto the playoff bowls, I doubt the NCAA could squeeze anywhere near as much money from the corporations for them.

Exactly. Just use the lesser bowls to handle the lesser matchups in the playoff. Also, why just the top 8? Let's do Top 24! Set up seeds and lowest seeded can start with 3 Bowls on Saturday, maybe two or three during the week at night. I just eliminated 6 teams making it possible to have the whole shindig over with in 3-4 weeks, which is about what the damn post season amounts to now anyways. Some kinks need to be worked out about who platys who first, later, etc, but it could be done. Or fuck it, copy what AA does.

The lesser bowls go first, the bigger ones go later, alternating National Champ game like they do now.

Go ahead and convince the sponsers that their bowl should be the "lesser bowl".
