Kobe to be traded for real?

The Sports Illustrated online site rumors section is saying that the odds are very high that Kobe will be sent out of LA before Oct 30th, but there's no word of his final destination. Opinions on the likelyhood of this, and if so, where he's going?

I heard Dallas and LA was very close to a deal being done sending Howard and Terry to LA for Kobe.

Chicago is always in the mix because of their depth. If a deal does get done with LA it will be for Gordon, Tyrus Thomas and some other stuff (Nocioni?)

All those deals are bad for LA. The Chicago deal would be bad for Kobes fantasy stats (and really bad for Deng's).

I'm surprised Buss admitted his on the trading block especially with the decline in ticket sales they will see without Kobe

Mark Cuban said he wont be doing any blockbuster trades for Kobe, so unless he changes his mind I doubt hes going to Dallas

Marion wants out of PHX and wants to be the man all on his own so perhaps something can happen there? I'm hoping he gets traded to SA, PHX or Dallas so it screws their team frame up making room for Denver to win it all :arms:

I doubt we will see any moves until December however

The article said that Phoenix was a spot on Kobe's list, and his list matters cause he's got the only no-trade clause in the entire NBA. Still, I think Buss & Co. would rather carve out their own spleens with a rusty spork than trade Kobe within the division. Still, can you imagine Kobe with Nash feeding him?

Tickets will never dip in LA.

If I was Chicago and I had a Ben Gordon who wants max money and you know a stupid team like Minny or Atlanta will offer him that you have to be looking to move him.

They have plenty of young pieces and are in a win now mode. Kobe just seems to be the perfect fit in Chicago and he's on his wish list so no worries with the no-trade clause.

they wont trade Kobe for just Gordon though, they will be in a worse position than they are now. If I'm CHI's GM then I'm at the very least asking for Deng as well.

Actually that trade might work out, Kobe for Gordon and Deng, just bump Nocioni to start at SF

I was watching 1st and 10 before and Skip Bayless actually proposed this trade, wade for Kobe, his reasoning was that Shaq wants to win another title and needs kobe?

lol

If that trade ever went down someone needs to make a reality show and follow those two around just to document the hilarity.

Chicago will never trade Deng in a Kobe deal. He's the future star of that team (unless Kobe gets traded).

They'll toss all their other kids at LA hoping they'll bite.

If Houston thought Kobe could get along with Yao I think both teams would do it.

Kobe is the better player though.

after the abysmal performance from T-Mac in game 7 of the 1st round playoffs I'm surprised if LA would even trade Luke Walton for him...

ok that might be going to far but still :)

yeah, i agree.... i think Kobe and Yao would be pretty great, don't know who else they would have to throw in to seal the deal

If LA feels they're forced to move him, that's a deal they'd be happy to do.

Plus I think T-Mac's skill set a little bit better than Kobe for the triangle.

Heh, the Nets should try and trade VC + something for Kobe.

Kidd to Kobe would rule the east, and LA couldn't complain that they weren't getting a superstar back...

Not to mention, Kobe wants to be in New York, supposedly, and while NJ isn't QUITE the same thing as NYC, it's pretty damn close, and they're a hell of a lot better team than the Knicks are...

The Nets will likely be moving to Brooklyn within the next few years.

The Bulls reportedly have made star forward Luol Deng untouchable, so the Lakers made it known they wouldn't agree to a deal unless the incoming package includes center Ben Wallace, a choice between guards Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich, and others.

But when the Chicago Tribune reported that Bryant wants to play with Wallace, it meant the Bulls would have to change the package to perhaps include Tyrus Thomas or Joakim Noah, forward Andres Nocioni and a first-round pick.

Word is the Lakers are very interested in Nocioni, a former Argentine star who averaged 14.1 points and 5.7 rebounds for Chicago last season. But by rule, he can't be traded until after Dec. 15.

There also has been speculation in Chicago the Bulls want to find out how good this team will be before making a major trade.

Looks like you were right about the bulls options zan

Well, the Nets can't trade VC until December either, so even if they wanted to make the deal, it can't happen until then anyway.

But Zan, you think that's a trade that might work?

I still see Gordon being in the mix.

Gordon, Nocioni, a first and either Noah or Ty Thomas? Why wouldn't either team do it. You get almost get full value for Kobe and you have him playing half the season for you motivated because you've convinced him you'll trade him in December, and the Bulls are instantly number one in the east and will be pretty much guaranteed to go to the finals.

Only a red hot Detroit team could beat them (or maybe my raps~). I'm not convinced about the Celts till I see em play.

LA would be bad, but with a real young team they could nurture Bynum and rebuild. If the youth movement doesn't work they can just took to free-agency. Everyone wants to play in LA.

I don't really know why LA would be interested in Wallace, his production is declining and last time I checked he was on a huge overpaid contract?

Bulls would be very strong with Kobe, Deng and Hinrich but I disagree about the auto finals. Raps, celts (I just want these guys to do well because i'd love for KG to get a ring) cavs, pistons and wizards (hopefully all healthy) will all compete

At the end of the day it wont matter because who ever is just gonna lose 4-0 to Denver in the finals, Can you say AI + Melo full season?! :9mm:

If the Lakers trades Bryant, they will have no chance of making the playoffs.
