So. I nearly kicked someone today

A kid (which I guessed to be 14-17 after the fact) ran up to me with what I thought was a large boot with a mask on.
I pulled out my boot from my belt and put it on my big foot. He ran...and I thought that was going to be it.
His fucking dad found me up the street thinking I had intentions of hurting his child. I talked with him for no longer than a minute before he was apologizing to me.
This kid ran up to me in a mask and a big boot. I figured by the size of what was coming at me I was pretty fucked, again.
I pulled out my boot and was expecting the worst. Little did I know it was just a tall fucking high school kid.
He turned out to be 16, and doing this with cars etc. locally
