Error

I'm getting back into the game...and doing so very cheaply, by downloading EQTrilogy from Everquest.com for the free 30 days 
. However, after I downloaded it and installed it I can't start the game. The patching screen comes up, but after all the patches are downloaded, when I click "play" I get an error message that reads something along the lines of:
The application was not opened successfully because file d3dp.dll was not found. Re-installing this application may fix the problem.
I re-installed it, and had the same problem. Any ideas?
