What are you guys thankful for? I suppose I'm thankful for NT. Through the years I haven't been as active of a poster as many people still here, but I definitely do a lot of reading, and overall NT has helped to expand my perspectives and make me a more understanding and well-rounded person. Definitely something to be thankful for.

i appreciate the consistency of this community, i have wandered to other boards over the oast few years and it's either ROFLMOMFGLOLZER teenys, boring and dead, or just hard to get into, and i dig this one.
also i am thankful for 2 healthy children and a wife that i get along with and like, as well as love.

Then it wasn't prepared properly. If it's done right, you cannot tell the difference.

if you can't tell the difference you might as well go with cow. there's definitely a difference no matter how it's prepared =p it's much leaner. it is definitely a gamey animal if not prepared right though.

it depends on what recipe it's used in i guess. i like venison but there are some recipes i just don't like it with - when it comes to burger though i almost always prefer it because of the texture
venison has nothing on a farm raised cow that you fed yourself, though - thats the best.

Except cow costs too motherfucking much.
I lived on venison for about 6 months once, and it was done by an awesome butcher. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between it and cow, lost a shitload of weight, and saved a shitload of money.

Do butchers where you live offer it?
Out here it is illegal to sell it so it's difficult to get any unless you hunt it yourself or know hunters that you can trust to field dress the shit properly. =(

I think it has a lot to do with how it's processed and prepared. I've had good venison.
