It looks like Yao Ming is done for the season. Do you guys think that Houston still have enough to make the playoff? They are currently on a 12 games winning streak.

Yao Ming's season reportedly is over.

KRIV-TV in Houston and The Houston Chronicle are reporting that Yao has a stress fracture in his left foot and the Rockets are expected to announce he will have season-ending surgery later Tuesday.

Houston, currently on a 12-game winning streak, is in fourth place in the Southwest Division. The streak followed a loss in the one game that Yao has missed all season.

The 7-foot-6 Yao is averaging 22.0 points and 10.8 rebounds in 55 games this season.

In the West? I doubt it. I'm sure they'd like to get Bonzi back now.

H-Town mourns his loss. and no, i don't imagine they have a real chance. you need, typically, at least 2, and usually 3 superstars to carry you in the playoffs.

I still think they will make the playoffs, either Denver or GSW will miss out, they don't play THAT badly without Yao and they still have Mutombo for an inside presence (although the amount of minutes that 40 year old body can take are questionable)

The reason for this is simply defense, they are still a good defensive team, Denver and GSW play NONE. I don't think they will make it past the first round though of course

Yao sounds more concerned with playing for China in the Olympics anyway, but I suppose he has no choice there

It doesn't look like they are having problems winning. The streak is up to 16 games now. Phoenix, however, is not doing to well since the Shaq trade.
