soooo after two years as a copy editor, i was officially promoted to content editing. :D today was the day of the official physical move to the new department.

i'm pretty excited b/c i've wanted to move up for a long, long time AND it will eventually mean a pretty good raise, but i'm bummed at the same time because the publication i'm editing for (Processor, a weekly publication for IT professionals and data centers) is pretty dry and tech-centered and i won't be working side-by-side with my bestie anymore and i won't get to read any of the other publications anymore.

BUT, the job has been really busy and intense for the past few days, which is a huge change from sitting around, twiddling my thumbs, and watching movies on youtube hehe

anyway, just thought i'd share :D

Wait....no raise with the new job? That's sucky

ehhhh our company is kind of wacky with the way they do raises. . . . there's no set time period or increment, and just because you got a promotion doesn't mean the raise is going to happen automatically. they claim it's b/c they like to have a probationary trial period to make sure you fit in with the new position and whatever, but really i think it's just because they give raises to everyone at the same time once or twice a year, so i'm pretty much just going to have to wait until the next round of raises comes around. which should probably be pretty soon, actually, since the last raise i remember receiving was in july last year. SO, i'll be making an extra $100 or so take-home per paycheck, which will be awesome for all the expenses that come with the house, yikes.

O good gosh that means some of the tech papers I probably get could be "edited" by you (j/k).
