I hate to interrupt the mancrush on Ron Paul, but the guy didn't even come close to winning the primary over McCain in his OWN STATE. How do you go from that to "has best chance of anyone to win in November"? Don't get me wrong, I like him the best of any of the GOP stable, but he ain't electable, folks.

The best Paul is going to be able to do is have influence on the plank-making of the party platform at the convention. Sorry, but it's time to face reality here...

yeah, I have to agree with Arlos here.. I like him, I contributed to his campaign etc.. but he really sucks at marketing himself, and I think due to that he'd get squashed by Obama.. which is fine by me either way, really, since that's right where my vote is going.

He has a very strong grassroots base and that's fantastic, he's trying to do something different and I think he's the definition of what a true conservative is - if there were more like him, the Republican party wouldn't be such a joke... but he'll never get elected in November, because the majority of american voters who don't follow politics will say "Ron Paul who?"

I'm very proud of the things he accomplished, especially the fundraising he did.. but he can't win because he just doesn't advertise himself enough, and word of mouth in this country simply isn't enough to win.

he would be utterly squashed.... now give him 5 inches, a square jaw, a fake texas drawl, and an inability to communicate coherent thoughts for more than 17 consecutive seconds...... THEN YOU'D HAVE A WINNER! maybe even a 2 term prezzzz
