So I went to buy my pirated DVDs for $1 each yesterday as usual...... They now have pirated Bluray for $5! I finally have a reason to get a Bluray player. Sucks for Sony.

For the record, if original DVDs were even twice the price of pirated DVDs I'd buy them. Selling them at the price they do is absolutely unreasonable though.

I may be in the minority but once I watch a movie, excluding VERY few, I usually never willingly go out of my way to watch it again.

I don't buy DVD's because I just end up giving them away and it's a massive waste of money.

The companies would make a lot more selling them for $2 than not having any be bought at all.

The guys selling pirated DVDs certainly make plenty of money. They have the high cost of paying off cops not to bother them, being raided by customs meaning confiscated materials and even more bribes, and the occasional special unit doing the same to them (something like FBI but Malaysian version). They still make a shit ton of cash after all of this - fuckers driving around in Mercedes and BMWs.

I'll buy original when they set a more reasonable price.

Oh yes, and please remember that the average worker here... say a waitress for example... might make $1.50 an hour max. How the fuck is someone like this supposed to pay even $10 for a DVD?

Another example: Those with a degree can easily find jobs here, but they most likely won't be making more than $1,000 a month for the first few years. Sad and pathetic if you ask me... especially as the cost of living has increased dramatically over the last few years.

got to agree, unless you are making 1.50/hour, that whole argument has nothing to do with how you screw people out of making money off their work because you have arbitrarily decided it's too expensive, but you still deserve to get to watch it, even though it means doing it illegally
