looks pretty cool
still a bit behind in the mouth movements though, they are probably hardest to imitate

Yea, it’s the best I've seen but it's still not perfect. You can see it in her cheeks and mouth.
It's also cheating a bit since I doubt it was rendered without someone doing motion capture. The movement is a little too random for it to have been programmed, but kudos if it was.

read the article. "Researchers at a Californian company which makes computer-generated imagery for Hollywood films started with a video of an employee talking. They then broke down down the facial movements down into dozens of smaller movements, each of which was given a 'control system'. ............. Previous methods for animating faces have involved putting dots on a face and observing the way the dots move, but Image Metrics analyses facial movements at the level of individual pixels in a video, meaning that the subtlest variations - such as the way the skin creases around the eyes, can be tracked. "
you guys must've never met someone that has stiff lips. she looks 100% real to me. if someone didn't tell me it was fake i would never know. no CGI has ever looked that real

Yeah, it's not supposed to be a 'real time' shot or anything of the sort. This is just showing off the technology of recreating a human face. They do an amazing job at it.
