awww so cute!! she has sad eyes, though

lucky for you on the potty training. chester still has accidents every so often. he's becoming a smidge less evil, though, so that's nice.

Sooooo cute.
My impulse-buy dog ended in this -
the brown one jumping off the stump.
Naw, really she's a fun dog, she's just such a gnarly little mongrel rat dog that you can't help but love her, even when she's aggravating.

She's beautiful, but what happened to your old dog?

Zoey, the black and grey one? She's still with Scott in WI, along with the two cats. I miss them all heaps, but it wouldn't have really been fair to bring her down here, she has so much room to run up there and she loves the snow.
sidenote: he's getting married next May to a girl he met at the dog park. Since I'm the one that got him the dog, I guess he can thank me for his new wife

PS - I know Emi looks like a corgi now (it's the coloring and the ears), but she's not - she's a shiba inu.

I love Shiba Inu's, I was going to get one but honestly I suck at the dog training part. Like if I could find a puppy that was trained i'd love it. I'm going to get a cat this weekend though, well if I can find a ragdoll or some other low shedding breed I will.

ragdolls aren't low shedding love! that's what my boys were (the ones that are still in WI) and we would pick up clumps all over the place! they're wonderful cats, but their hair drove me up a wall.
honestly, this is the best puppy I've ever had as far as training. she's very calm, only chews on her toys, and like I said, she was potty trained within 2 days. she's pissed in the house fewer times in the week we've had her than dad's 3 year old pom. (worst behaved dog ever, but that's more dad's fault than the dog's - he refuses to train him, so he's the classic little dog getting away with bad behavior case)
she doesn't make a lot of noise and she walks on a leash just fine too.. seriously, she's so well behaved - I'll get another shiba later I'm sure, because this one is a dream.
our cat is a bit of a mutt, though she looks a lot like my ragdoll did, and she doesn't shed much at all. you could always get one of those hairless cats! they don't shed at all

Huh that's strange my aunt has a ragdoll and it rarely sheds. It has to be groomed like once a week but it doesn't shed. Maybe my aunt's is a mix. I'm still going back and forth, by tomorrow i'll post pictures on whether I got a cat or a dog :p

that is strange! ours literally had hair just falling out in clumps - any given day you could run your fingers along the bottom of the walls and get a handful of hair. we had hardwoods so it was a blessing and a curse - easy to clean up, hard to hide.
yaya, post pics!

haha ashley you poopface why do you get such an easy dog and mine is such a little terror :P i'm really excited to start training classes on monday, though. whee!
shibas are so cute. i was convinced i wanted one of those before we got chester. i love corgi's little short legs, though :D
and emi's ears are way too small to be a corgi, lol

hah, I don't know. you're just unlucky I guess!
it's actually the first time Jonathan's ever had a dog - I was telling him yesterday how lucky he is to have his first experience be with a dog like Emi because some puppies would put you off owning dogs for life, haha.
Zoey, much as I love her, was a pain in the ass as a puppy - she ate so many of my shoes and destroyed wires. I was always terrified she'd electrocute herself. She also had a "I'm too lazy to jump off the bed so I'll piss on it instead" problem. Then there was the one day where we didn't lock her up thinking she'd be good and got home to discover that in the hour we were gone she'd opened the cabinet where her food was kept and ate literally half of the enormous bag. she ate herself stupid, I was sure she was going to be sick. she was just lying on the floor by the food breathing heavy with her belly swollen to bursting (she was like 5 months old then) - we couldn't punish her because we figured she was punished enough from the tummyache, lol.

i figure chester will either be my first and last dog OR i will launch into kickass training mode and turn him into the best dog EVARRRR hehehe . . . let's hope for #2.
if these beginning classes go well, i really think i'm going to continue through the progressive classes (adolescent puppy, intermediate obedience, etc) on up to this class called "metro dog" that teaches you how to have a dog you can take downtown or to an outdoor restaurant with no incident. that's what i want to have with my dog!

I need to get a kitten. I'd take a full-grown cat too, but people don't typically give out full-grown cats.

yes
make some calls, joshman. the humane society here is a no-kill joint, and there are always tons of kitties available. they immunize and spay/neuter everything that comes in, so if you adopt one they will charge you for those things. but it's worth it. hell, if i were home more than 8 hours a day i'd get me a kitty too ;-[

How cute! Congrats!
I've been thinking of having a pet again, but not sure whether I want a dog or cat this time.
On another bright note, it appears Harrison is finally getting some pussy.
