I don't have to move to Canada now

I found Maple Butter at a nearby grocer... I'm going to gain 50lbs in about 3 weeks.
I discovered that stuff on a Quebec vacation about 8 years ago... have searched for it ever since. I figured I could order it online, but I wanted to DISCOVER it locally. Asshole Texas never gets stuff like that.
$10.99 for the lose =/.
Giant ass... FTL

which? the PBJ? I fucking hate you if so... my mom used to put those in my lunch when I was a kid... and they've been my favorites forever. They pulled them out of Texas probably 20 years ago =/. Anytime I'm out of state I alway look for them and I RARELY find them. Saw them in NJ and I sent 8 boxes (all they had at the store) via UPS ground back home haha. can't find them online... Oh, someone brought a few boxes to my wedding, so... I had those sitting alongside my transformer's groom's cake. So, other than my wedding, I haven't had em in years.
This is kind of a "vonk's giant ass" thread, no?

it sucks, but at the same time, I'm always really happy to find awesome regional food
everything has gotten so commercial and globalized/homogenized that it's a bit boring, but when you can stumble across something neat, it's always cool
ps, we have maple whiskey too, and it's the smoothest whiskey you'll ever taste

I really love the regular Oatmeal Cream Pies, with the white frosting. I will also forever love Zebra Cakes. Actually, there are very few Little Debbie snacks I don't enjoy.

Did you know that the "Little Debbie" company is owned by Seventh-Day Adventists? Now how do you like them? rofl

honestly, Mindia, do you expect someone to say "holy shit, can't buy those anymore!"?
not everyone boycotts product just because they have a difference of opinion in personal beliefs. if it changes how they run their company, maybe, but I don't see little debbie snack cakes having a big fat "I LOVE JESUS, KILL ALL THE FAGS" sticker on the front of the box.

uh, Marriot is owned by Mormons and Tom Cruise is a scientologist but I still stay at their hotels and download his movies...
It's hilarious that you immediately thought I would change my mind on something I have loved since childhood because the owners are christian or something... most people don't think like you, man. Come to think of it, that practise is muuuuuch more 'taliban' than Christian. But, I'd never lump you in with 'that one'.

Heck, In & Out burger is owned by an extremely devout christian family, and they print bible verse references on their cups and wrappers. (not the whole verses, just like nahum:1:7, or Proverbs:3:5). Doesn't impact whether or not I eat their food. Nor would I have a problem eating at some hypothetical restaurant chain owned by the Church of Satan, one owned by a Hindu family, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, etc. etc. etc.
Everyone is free to live and worship as they want, it's right there in our constitution. Mindia, as you well know, I certainly don't agree with your religious beliefs, since I'm not part of the same religion, but I would never in my life argue that you shouldn't be allowed to hold those beliefs.
My sole argument with religion in any fashion is when people of one religion attempt to force people not of their religion to conform to their beliefs anyway. This includes legislation based on specifically "christian" mores. I am not Christian, and as a result, since the Government is specifically prohibited from promoting a specific religion, it has no business trying to force me to follow Christian morality.
In any case, none of that has any bearing on who does or does not own food service companies. Honestly, when it comes to that, I couldn't care less.

Theres a little industrial supply company around here that I deal with, in fact their name is Christian Industrial Supply Co., and the owners are extremely christian. They have bible verses on their delivery tickets and invoices and have stuff like god bless you all over the tickets. I know a guy who owns a little equipment company that we compete with that actually refuses to let his people deal with them just because he is a big christian, and in his words, no matter HOW much better the prices are than anyone else, I dont care if it takes up bankrupt! What a fucking weirdo. I dont care if it says PRAISE DEVIL 666 GOGO BEAST GOGO BEAST SATAN LIVES HERE on it, if it saves me money and is a good product, im going to buy it. I mean damn, what does god have to do with business?
