I just got the G1 this weekend. Not sure what I think yet. If I was a developer I'd probably be more excited. The initial batch of apps for it are pretty lackluster with the exception of a few really cool ones.

Anyone else have one?

nay

just carry around the work provided cell, and call it good enough

as much as I dislike apple, I really appreciate the iPhone, and to a certain extent, the way it's forced other companies to innovate again

After playing around with it for a week or so I've decided Google phones are cool. The google maps/GPS/google search integration is sweet. You can search for a store or location, plot your course and get turn by turn directions all from the same interface. Several good apps have been developed for the platform now and TONS more in the works.

A year from now hopefully there will be competing hardware. My biggest complaint is the relative "cheapness" of the hardware. I haven't had any problems yet but it just doesn't seem as solid as my old Windows Mobile device.

Can't argue with you on that point but they can certainly be more than that as well.

Portable internet is a wonderful thing.

more and more I'm looking for that all in one device

if the oqo 02 was capable of making cell calls, it would be perfect
