i am so behind on gaming, it's getting ridiculous
tons and tons of games i want to play, but no time to do it ;\
i usually only get one night per week where i have time for gaming, i'm working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky for the PC, and when friends come over we play Haze or Army of Two on the ps3
here are the ps3 games i've owned/played with ratings, i have no idea which are exclusive and which aren't:
Haze 4/5 - good action, good story, but too short
Assassin's Creed 4/5 - great story, good action, awesome environment. gets a little tedious though - pickpocket this guy, beat up that guy, kill him, rescue her. blah blah blah.
Army of Two 5/5 - really like this so far, haven't finished. also haven't tried playing without a friend, so i don't know how good the CPU ally AI is. customizable weapons ftw!
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune 2.5/5 - didn't care much for the mechanics. also, about 2/3 of the way through it turns into Resident Evil: Abandoned Power Station with superfast zombie shit. wtf?
Resistance: Fall of Man 3.5/5 - good enough game, but something felt missing. can't say what.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 4/5 - great physics, awesome graphics and tight play control. hard as FUCK though, i still can't believe i beat it
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots 5/5 - if you ever played any of the MGS games, you'll love it. as always, the storyline is convoluted and confusing, but even despite that it's a great game
Battlefield: Bad Company 4.5/5 - fun as hell. supporting characters crack me up, too.
side comment: why do so many games (and movies, for that matter) have secondary names now? it's kind of annoying sometimes

Valkyria Chronicles is a rather recent title that is very good - if you are into strategy RPG's. I have been enjoying it a lot so far, and there are plans to expand on it with DLC in the future.

I got the 160 gb ps3 and it came with Uncharted-haven't played it
So far this is what we have for it:
Little Big Planet -which is the only one I really play
Grand Theft Auto 4- always fun
Mortal Kombat vs DC Comics - playing Superman and not even having to touch the other person by hand lol
Soul Calibur 4 - just awesome
Midnight Run -alot of fun for a car racing game
Metal Gear Solid 4- got this and haven't opened it yet...will either return it or sell it to someone
Madden 09
Some gay wrestling game WWE or something
Fight Night Round 3 - I don't care for it much

OK, I've been holding out on getting one but now I'm in the market for a BLU-Ray and figured, if I'm going to spend $250+ for a decent player then why not get a PS3. I've spent 2 hours looking over the different bundles and I'm confused and need guidance. The "new" PS3 has a smaller processor ??? which is quieter and uses less energy and it doesn't have the memory card readers (which I wouldn't use anyway) but comes with a bigger hard drive and new controller. Only 2 USB ports.. not sure on PS2 playability but I have a PS2 (but would rather sell it or trade it in). Any tips / advice? I also checked out e-bay to see if there was a great deal there and I saw a bunch of "damaged" of systems... whats up with that? Thanks in advance!

I don't think any of the new PS3's have PS2 or 1 compatibility. I'd try to find one of the original 60GB ones with the hardware PS2 compatibility, card reader, 4 USB, etc.

The Metal Gear Solid PS3 Edition has PS2 compatibility (software based). I havent run into any problems with mine.
