Ive been out on the lake before and ran past them swimming around. Summersville Lake, near me, has a little island out from the docks, and for some reason deer are always trying to get to it. They arent very good swimmers, more like a doggy paddle that doesnt move anywhere. so im really surprised that little fucker was that far offshore. They usually drown if they have to go more than a few ten yards.

the one that always surprises me is moose, and how well they swim, and how much they do it
